When we started working on the second version of the game, Yer Hotel didn't have much traffic... just few friends and us. It's gotten some attention since and we should take a break from developing new features and bring improvements to the old code base.

I've quickly hacked a way for you to delete comments in your own guestbooks. Here are things that we're gonna work on in the next few days/weeks:

* You'll be able to flag guestbook and forum posts as offensive. Mods (us at the moment) will review reported posts and delete them if necessary. We don't have any rules of behavior yet, common sense applies.
* RSS feeds with new threads and posts on forums (two feeds for each forum).
* You'll be able to build new hotels. Fixing the bug that allows you to build new hotels for free is trivial (one line of code) - we haven't done it yet cause it would make things unfair for those that haven't used that bug yet. Instead, we need to adapt the whole code base for new hotels (there are parts of code that don't take it very well), make the interface for building new hotels and close that bug. We'll probably "reset" the game as well, leaving everybody with a single hotel. Feel free to complain about it in this thread :). I, for one, think that starting over is fun :).

I can see why you've made the decision to 'reset the game', Muszek, but I shall be sad to lose Bird of Paradise :-( Many members will lose far more hotels than just my one.

What about all the hard work they've put in building up their hotels, spending money to improve them to 5* status, adding rooms right up to Royal Suites and many many floors?

I don't suppose there will be any kind of 'sweetener' to compensate for losing so much?

I'm already starting to 'downsize' Bird of Paradise' preparatory to its disappearance. Hopefully I'll be able to recreate it at some future time when the game settles down again.

Will we be able to keep our first hotel's name?

also will there be an option to delete hotels in case we got a head of ourselves.

Tomek's working on the "reset" script as we speak. In short, it goes like this: all "extra" hotels are deleted. The first hotel is reset back to its original form (a few rooms). Cash is reset, too.

What?!
Really?
So all the new hotels we have are going to be deleted?

They've been built as a result of exploitation of a bug, right? You haven't paid for new hotels...
