The recent changes included one thing - we wanted to exclude automated entries into hotels. To do that, we implemented a brain-dead simple captcha - anonymous users need to click on a "visit" button. Some of you rely on automated traffic to fill your huge hotels and that made you upset. My advice to you - scale down your operations a bit, so you'll be able to fill your buildings. All these visits were made either by bots or people who didn't even look at the page for a second. Sorry, but that's something other people consider as cheating.

We want to address your worries and roll out a part of the second version of the game earlier than we were planning to. Hopefully it's going to happen in the next few days. In short: every city will get a pool of "dry" (artificial) guests. You'll invest a certain amount of money into your marketing department. The level of investment will determine how many of these artificial guests you'll get. The code still requires some polishing - it will take some time.

Lastly, some of you complained about losing money during a reset (everyone's budget was set on 300 euros, as some of you complained about getting in a unmanageable debt). I'm sorry guys, it's a beta release and such things will happen. Right now we have over 3000 hotels and we can't manually take care of every one of them. What's most important to us at the moment is a speedy development - we want to roll new, exciting features as soon as possible.

What about the ones who book a room and never show up! Or the ones who say they only need a single but have like 5 people sleeping in the room!? Drives me crazy!

I appreciate those that left a response at my, now, inactive hotel.

I truly enjoyed the exchanging of visits between, 'real' people.

Take care everyone and be safe. :)

I'm still here. The next update is taking longer than anticipated :(.

And no, we're not gonna allow visits by bots/people who can't even click on a silly button.

MUSZEK ...

* You need to make the game where we can visit more hotels than just 3 at a time. I suggest at LEAST 6 at a time. this will benefit EVERYONE!

* Guestbook comment area needs to hold MORE characters ... kind of annoying to post a message to someone and have it only show half of it half the time.

* I suggest MORE control by each hotel owner with the amounts AND when money is subtracted from our budget for expences.

Your thoughts please ...

@Randall:
* (more visits) it's coming, along with a slight change of rules that will make it easier to make max visits per day for people who can't visit the site as often as they wish.
* (guestbook length issue) i've just fixed that
* (more control...) I don't know what you mean... care to elaborate?

@ Muszek ..

"more control"

- What i was talking about is giving each player the ability to control HOW much money is subtracted from our daily budget to pay for upkeep, stores , or whatever else is dipping into the budget account. Also be able to set WHEN this all takes place within a time schedule. Something along those lines is what i meant.

Thanxs for the reply.

@Randall: I don't see much point in implementing these things.

How about a 'hiatus' status for when owners take vacation. Some of us rely entirely on internal social connections for visit exchange (no posting links externally, no exchanges/proxies).

When we leave on vacation and are not near computer for days/weeks, the number of visitors drops significantly and upkeep consumes finances. What if we were allowed to put out hotels to 'sleep' as not to consume as many resources (upkeep fees) like in the real world when hotels shut for winter, or ski lodges close during summer. They maintain a caretaker, but the rest of the staff is seasonal.

Question: When rooms has been 'deactivated' does they still require upkeep?

It's a very good suggestion, PaiGow.

AFAIR deactivation of rooms serves only one purpose - to prevent people from visiting the room (so that you can sell it once a current guest leaves). There's nothing else special about inactive rooms.

PaiGow just suggested more or less THE SAME THING i just did.

@Randall: I misunderstood you then. I thought you want something like this: "owner decides how much he spends on room upkeep and hotel's performance depends on it (for example rooms are cheaper when you don't clean them well)". The latter part wasn't said by you, but I figured out you mean something like that.

As for the other idea, I understood you'd like to give owners the ability to choose at which time of the day they're billed.

For various reasons (KISS principle being the most important one) I didn't like these ideas (as I understood them).

PaiGow's idea goes like this: "owners can close down their hotels for some time - nobody can visit them and they don't pay upkeep while the hotel is in vacation mode".

Sorry for the confusion.
